TO RECEIVE A CONDITIONAL LICENSE IN NEW YORK STATE, FOLLOWING A DWI/DWAI, MOTORISTS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH AN IMPAIRED DRIVER PROGRAM.

(FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE DRINKING DRIVER PROGRAM)


REGISTRATION IS DONE AT YOUR LOCAL NYS DMV OFFICE. CURRENT DMV REGISTRATION FEE IS $75.
TUITION FOR THE IMPAIRED DRIVER PROGRAM IS $225.

STUDENTS ATTEND SEVEN CONSECUTIVE CLASSES FOR A TOTAL OF SIXTEEN CLASSROOM HOURS. 

CLASSES ARE HELD EVENINGS, WEEKENDS & AFTERNOONS AND ARE TAUGHT  BY TRAINED & CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS. 
CROSSROADS INSTRUCTORS INCLUDE PROFESSIONALS FROM:

ENFORCEMENT, PREVENTION, MEDICINE, EDUCATION, MINISTRY, SOCIAL WORK, AND COUNSELING. NYS CERTIFIED ALCOHOLISM & SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROFESSIONALS (CASAC) ARE ON STAFF.

UPON COMPLETION OF THE DRINKING DRIVER PROGRAM, MOST STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A EARLY RETURN OF A SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE. SOME EXCEPTIONS APPLY, DEPENDING ON AGE & CIRCUMSTANCES OF ARREST.
